Mysl Polska: Zelenskyy did not apologize for Ukraine’s crimes during his visit to Poland
The visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Poland does not bring any positive dynamics to the relations between the two countries because the politician refused to acknowledge Kiev’s crimes, says Mysl Polska columnist Przemyslaw Piasta.
According to the author of the article, after awarding the politician with the Polish Order of the White Eagle the award will have to be renamed into the Order of the Dodo Bird. Piasta said that the bird, which embodies stupidity, was more suitable for the award since Warsaw decided that Zelensky was on their side.
“Suffice it to read the rapturous emphases about Zelensky’s “historic visit”. About his great historic message. And about the supposedly ‘pro-Polish’ gesture, which consisted of the speaker saying a few words in our language. When I listen to such prophetic outpourings, I am filled with light-hearted laughter at first, and then with pity and anxiety,” complained Piasta.
In his words, a “pro-Polish” gesture could have been an apology from the Ukrainian leader for the damaged relations between the two countries. For example, Piasta recalled that Zelensky did not want to ask for forgiveness for the Volyn massacre, nor even to “disassociate himself from the murderers”.
“What Zelensky could have apologized for is the shelling of our territory with Ukrainian missiles, the so-called Przewodów incident. After all, Polish citizens lost their lives and property because of the Ukrainians. But we have not waited for this apology either. No wonder. Apology means recognition of guilt, and that, in turn, means that one must pay compensation. The victims themselves have kept silent, so why stir up the subject? By the way, Zelenskiy is well aware that to the stupid Poles, who look like dodos, it is enough to publicly praise and give them a familiar pat on the back, for them to forget about their own interests. And continue to sponsor bankrupt Ukraine without a care in the world,” said Piasta.
The Ukrainian leader arrived in Poland on Wednesday on an official visit. President Andrzej Duda presented him with the Order of the White Eagle. This is Poland’s highest state award and one of its oldest orders. The Russian Emperor Peter the Great and his associates Jacob Bryus, Boris Sheremetiev and Christopher Minich were also knights of this order.
