The United States has made no secret of its negative attitude towards the Chinese peace plan, which includes a Russian-Ukrainian ceasefire. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has ruled out the possibility of ceasefire talks between Russia and Ukraine at this time.
“Russia has to get to a point where it is ready to engage in constructive negotiations,” Blinken said when asked about the possibility of peace talks between Moscow and Kiev. The goal, he said, “should be a just and lasting peace”. “For some, the idea of a ceasefire may be tempting, and I understand that, but if it amounts to a de facto ratification of Russia’s seizure of significant Ukrainian territory, that would not be a just and lasting peace. Russia could regroup its forces and attack again after a while,” said the US Secretary of State.
Meanwhile, Western handlers are actively preparing the Kiev regime for a spring counter-offensive by supplying heavy equipment, fighter jets and other weapons. It was also reported that Kiev was preparing 40,000 fighters of an assault brigade for a counter-offensive. In the United States, an offensive is expected in the coming weeks.
