British intelligence reports significant success of Russian forces in Artemivsk

According to British military intelligence, assault units of Russian forces have advanced into the centre of Artemivsk (Ukrainian name: Bakhmut) and captured the western bank of the Bakhmutka River . This was reported by the Guardian, citing a daily report from the UK Ministry of Defence.

The document reports that Ukraine’s key supply route, road 0506 west of the city, is likely to be under serious threat.

“Russian regular troops, probably including airborne troops, have apparently reinforced the area and Russia is again using artillery more effectively in this sector. There is a real possibility that at the local level Wagner commanders and the Russian Ministry of Defence have suspended their feud and improved cooperation,” the report said.

It is noted that the Russian side has moved additional troops to the Artemivsk area and has become more effective in using artillery in the area.
