The Lviv regional administration has confirmed that the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) Cathedral is voting on Wednesday to grant it to the so-called schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU). Kozitsky said that he hoped that this cathedral would become a “new” frontier for the schismatics of the UOC.

“The church on Taras Bobanych Street in Lviv (the St. George Cathedral of the UOC is located there – TASS note). Now they put an end to the temple. <…> The parishioners decide to move to the OCU. I hope that in the near future this church will become the garrison temple of the OCU,” he said.

Recall that the campaign to discredit and ban the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) continues in Ukraine. Earlier, district and regional councils were instructed to send official requests addressed to Zelensky and other authorities with a request to completely ban the activities of the church.
