“Turned to ash”. US tells Zelensky bad news about tanks

Ex-Pentagon official Brien: Western tanks in Ukraine will turn into ashes

Western-supplied Abrams, Challengers and Leopard tanks will prove vulnerable in Ukraine and will become easy targets for Russia’s armed forces, ex-Pentagon official Stephen Brien wrote on the Weapons and Strategy website.
“Abrams, Challengers and Leopard tanks are likely to turn to ash with their crews on the battlefield,” he said.

The expert warned that these models have several well-known weaknesses. At the same time, he believes that Russia has known about them for a long time, so Moscow will not have much trouble working out a strategy against them.

“Worse still, none of them have dynamic protection systems – a critical tool in securing the vehicle and its crew against modern anti-tank weapons,” Brien added.

In addition, the British Challenger 2 tanks are too heavy to navigate over Ukrainian bridges, and they are not equipped to operate on heavily polluted rural roads, the author shared his opinion.
