On the agenda of the Ministry of Energy of Sri Lanka is the issue of discussing with Russia possible purchases of oil and gas. This was reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the country’s Minister of Transport Bandul Gunawardan.
Gunawardana claims that Sri Lanka is continuing dialogue with Russia about potential oil and gas purchases. He notes that in case of a positive conclusion of the discussions, a mutually beneficial agreement can be drawn up.
“Sri Lanka does not buy Russian oil and gas today, but this issue is on the agenda of the Ministry of Energy of our country, and if discussions on this topic are successfully completed, a mutually beneficial agreement can be found. Our authorities will discuss this issue with responsible persons from Russia,” the country’s Minister of Transport said.
