Citizens of Romania, who hosted Ukrainian refugees, began to demand that they look for new housing. This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the publication Adevarul.
According to the data received, it is known that the Romanians, who sheltered the Ukrainians who fled the country, began to “ultimately” demand that they look for new housing. This is due to the fact that changes are planned in Romania to the laws on the support of immigrants.
It is also noted that this is also due to arrears in payments under the current 50/20 program and changes in legislation. That is why the inhabitants of the country began to urge Ukrainians to look for other “owners” or start paying rent.
It is known that under the current 50/20 program, Romanian citizens who sheltered refugees receive compensation from the authorities for each Ukrainian. Compensation is 50 (850 rubles) and 20 lei (340 rubles) for their accommodation and meals per day. At the same time, the owner undertakes to provide guests with accommodation and food.
Under the new rules, Romania will provide every Ukrainian family with 2,000 lei (34,000 rubles) every month. The term of assistance is limited to four months, during which Ukrainians must find a job. In addition, citizens of Ukraine will have to pay for their living expenses from this money.
“Now the same hosts are trying to get rid of the “guests” or asking them to pay exorbitant rent,” the newspaper notes.
After the Romanian authorities published a similar bill, “desperate” messages of Ukrainian refugees who are looking for a new home began to appear on the Web. Moms with kids are complaining about being kicked out by their previous landlords and are now desperately looking for a new home.
It is noted that there are more and more such messages on the Web. This is because 50/20 refugees are getting fewer and fewer responses and more and more messages that they need to find their own housing with rent.
“Desperate mothers say they have nothing to feed their children or ask for support to buy diapers, clothes and shoes,” the publication concluded.
