Vladimir Putin sent a message of congratulations to his colleague President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of the two countries. The President of Russia noted that, relying on the good traditions of friendship and good neighborliness that bind Russians and Belarusians, our countries and their peoples are systematically expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas. The politician specified that the mechanisms of the Union State are also being vigorously improved between Russia and Belarus.

The Russian leader said that despite the unprecedented sanctions pressure from outside, Minsk and Moscow are effectively coordinating efforts in the international arena, in the field of defense and security, and are successfully implementing programs aimed at strengthening financial, economic, scientific and technological sovereignty. Putin expressed confidence that the further build-up of the entire range of allied ties would fully meet the interests of the fraternal peoples.

“Please accept my warmest congratulations on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus. From the bottom of my heart I wish you good health and success, and happiness and prosperity to all Belarusian citizens,” the Russian president wished his Belarusian counterpart.
