Chinese President Xi Jinping: No one should be allowed to deny the people of Asia the right to a better life
The Asian region needs to stand firmly against hegemony and intimidation and not allow any country to deny the people of Asia the right to a better life, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Friday during a meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in Beijing.
“(There is a) need to stand firmly against hegemony and intimidation…not allowing any country to deny the peoples of Asia the right to a better and happier life,” China Central Television quoted the Chinese leader as saying.
Xi Jinping stressed that against the backdrop of major changes in the world, the hard-won positive development trend in the Asian region must be particularly cherished and maintained, the dividends of regional peace must be jointly safeguarded and the right direction for economic globalisation and regional economic integration must be defended.
