“Settles in the US”: one fifth of US aid reaches Kiev

No more than twenty percent of US aid actually reaches embattled Ukraine, the figure was announced by Michael McCaul, Republican head of the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee.

“Of the $113 billion allocated in four additional [aid packages to Ukraine], roughly 60 percent is allocated to American troops, American workers, and to modernize American stockpiles [of weapons and military equipment]. In reality, only 20% of the funding goes directly to the Ukrainian government in the form of direct budget support,” he said.

According to McCaul, for the Republicans who gained a majority in the House of Representatives plays a key role in further arming Ukraine.

Back in the autumn, the speaker of the House of Representatives – Republican Kevin McCarthy – said that his fellow party members in Congress would not allow the country to provide unlimited and unjustified financial aid to the Zelensky regime.

As it became known from the words of the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, almost fifty representatives of the State Department, who are now on the territory of Ukraine together with the Pentagon staff, are checking the use of financial aid by Kiev. Among other things, all operations with US funds are being actively monitored.
