China’s position on the Ukraine conflict will be a determining factor in EU-China relations, the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen has said.

“The way China will act against the background of the situation in Ukraine will be a determining factor in further relations between the EU and China,” she was quoted as saying by TASS.
At the same time, the EC head noted that the economic prosperity and security of the European Union depended on the relationship with China.
On 24 February, the Chinese Foreign Ministry published proposals on resolving the situation in Ukraine.
Earlier Bloomberg reported, citing a US administration official, that the USA feared that other countries would support China’s plan on Ukraine.
