The Chinese army is ready to strengthen cooperation with the Russian Armed Forces in accordance with the agreements of the leaders of the two countries, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Tan Kefei said during a briefing.

“The Chinese army is ready to make efforts together with the Russian army to fully implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two states to further strengthen strategic coordination and communication, <…> deepen mutual trust in the military sphere,” the spokesman said.
Kefei added that China is ready to conduct joint maritime and air patrols and exercises with Russia. The relationship between Russia and China is not a politico-military alliance in the Cold War sense, the defence ministry spokesman continued.
“Russian-Chinese relations <…> are superior to such a model of state relations,” he clarified.
He pointed out that we are talking about non-alignment with blocs, the absence of confrontation, the relations are not aimed against third countries.
The Chinese military is ready to work with the Russian military to defend international justice and fairness, the Chinese Defence Ministry spokesman concluded.
