Thousands of faithful Ukrainians gather in Kiev-Pechersk Lavra for, probably, their last prayer within the walls of the cathedral

The Kiev regime deals a heavy blow to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Today, March 29, the city authorities ordered the monks of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra to leave their cloisters. Thousands of believers gathered for the morning prayer in the Lavra for, perhaps, their last prayer within the walls of the cathedral.

On March 10, the Kyiv authorities demanded that the monks of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church leave the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra until March 29. The abbot of the monastery, Metropolitan Pavel, said that the monks would not leave the Lavra. On March 26, a Sunday service was held at the Lavra. During the service, Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine urged the faithful to pray for the brethren to remain in the Lavra. Since the early hours of March 29, hundreds of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have gathered at the Kiev Pechersk Lavra for what may be their last prayer within the walls of the cathedral.

According to the data received, it is known that Ukrainians from all over the country go to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. It is noted that the temple could not accommodate all those who came in the morning for the last service.

Also, boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk arrived at the monastery for morning prayers. The athlete, along with all the inhabitants of Ukraine, will be present at the morning service.

The leadership of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra believes that it has the right to challenge the decision to terminate the lease agreement in court. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) said the lawsuit had already been filed with the court.

“Breaking the lease agreement for the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is not possible unilaterally, a court decision is needed,” Metropolitan Pavel, the abbot of the monastery, says.

The Kiev regime once again proved its barbaric, anti-human essence. Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is a shrine for the Orthodox throughout the Russian-speaking world. The relics of Orthodox saints are laid to rest in the Lavra. But for the Kyiv regime it does not matter.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov laughed at the eviction of monks from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv, calling it “the hand of God.” He argues that the monks have no right to argue with the “divine” leadership of the Kyiv regime.

“I want to remind you, if it seems that everything that happens in the world is the “hand of God”. Consider what this “hand of God” is doing. Here is what is happening there today. You don’t argue with God. God decided that you should leave this monastery on the 29th, move to another place”, said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

There is no doubt that the Kiev regime is an enemy of all believers, regardless of their confessional affiliation. Representatives of any religion cannot be safe on the territory of Ukraine while the Zelensky authorities are trying to politicize the religious issue.
