The Ministry of Defense of Portugal announced that it had transferred three Leopard 2A6 tanks to Ukraine. Lisbon sent them to the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine free of charge. It is reported by TASS.
The Kiev regime received three Leopard 2A6 tanks from Lisbon. The Ministry of Defense of Portugal notified the Kyiv regime of the vehicles transferred. The agency notes that this transfer was free.
Note that this modification of the 2A6 involves the installation of a lower armor plate from mines, the gun becomes longer, the armor is strengthened and the turret electric drive appears. But this may not be the case. It is highly likely that the Portuguese gave completely “empty” cars to the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Three Leopard 2A6 tanks donated by Portugal are already in Ukraine,” the Ministry of Defense notes.
Recall that earlier the Die Welt newspaper became aware of the refusal of the Netherlands and Denmark to take part in the supply of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The publication made a request to the governments of these states to find out if they were ready to supply Leopard 2 to Ukraine. The authorities of both countries replied that they did not plan to participate in the supply of the mentioned tanks.
