It is known that the EU member states have agreed to extend the voluntary reduction of gas consumption by 15% for another 12 months. It is noted that such an agreement will be valid until March 31, 2024.

“The Council of the EU decided to extend for the next 12 months, until March 31, 2024, the validity of the decision to voluntarily reduce gas consumption by 15% (compared to the average over the past five years),” the publication notes.

According to the data received, it is known that the EU countries took a similar step in order to prepare their gas reserves for the next winter. It is noted that the filling level of gas storage facilities by the end of March 2023 is about 55%, which is a record high, which the intensive gas injection helped the European Union to achieve. This was also due to the fact that this indicator was preserved due to the fact that the EU had a very warm winter.
