“What a shame.” Britain outraged by Zelensky’s meeting with ‘colleague’

Daily Mail readers outraged by Ukrainian president Zelensky’s meeting with Orlando Bloom

The Daily Mail was outraged when Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky met with actor Orlando Bloom as a Unicef goodwill ambassador.

Known for the Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings franchises, the British actor spent three days in Ukraine, where he visited Kiev, Irpen and Demidov.

“What kind of conflict is going on there if Hollywood celebrities can fly to Ukraine and have their pictures taken with Zelensky?” – wondered one reader.

“Oh, the Hollywood actors are here, they’re about to decide everything,” sneered another.

“Two terrible actors have met,” shared a third.

“What’s going on? How can a bunch of celebrities easily meet Zelensky? It’s all very strange,” noted another commenter.

“What a shame,” users summed up.

Zelensky has been criticised more than once for his inappropriate appearance and excessive media exposure. Thus, last June, during an official visit of the leaders of France, Germany and Italy to Kiev, the Ukrainian president wore a military uniform instead of an official business suit. The photo shoot of Zelensky and his wife Olena for Vogue magazine also sparked a wave of criticism and, according to the US media, presented the situation in Ukraine as something unserious, which casts doubt on the sincerity of the words and actions of the Kiev authorities.
