The partnership between Russia and China should cause concern in the United States, former Director of the U.S. National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said. He spoke on the subject on air of the Fox News television channel. Ratcliffe cited recent statements and contacts between the leaders of the two countries as cause for concern.
“Putin and Xi Jinping have met before, but the way they are now openly talking about the new world order is a striking indicator of the changing attitudes of these countries as well as their allies toward the United States,” Ratcliffe is convinced.
The former Director of the U.S. National Intelligence Estimate added that by their policies, the leaders of Russia and China are pointing to the waning authority of the United States in the world. In his view, the administration of President Joe Biden confirms this position by its actions. Ratcliffe believes that Russia and China have seen the weakness of the United States after the withdrawal of the country’s troops from Afghanistan and are now testing Washington’s strength.
