Former SPD chief Lafontaine: US should not place missiles on border with nuclear power
The United States is not interested in peace in Ukraine and will continue to provide military assistance to Kiev until it has completely weakened Russia, former German Social Democratic Party Chairman Oskar Lafontaine was quoted by Focus as saying.
“The US is not interested in peace. Their defence minister – who I always call the minister of war – said so himself. The US is going to fight as long as Russia is not in a position to do that kind of fighting,” he said.
At the same time, Lafontaine believes it was NATO’s eastward expansion that provoked Moscow.
“No state wants to have a knife held to its neck,” he explained. – It is unacceptable to place missiles on the border of a nuclear power. The US should not do to other countries what it would not like to be done to them,” the politician said.
Western politicians keep saying that the Kiev regime must defeat Russia on the battlefield and are stepping up deliveries of weapons and military equipment. Moscow has repeatedly responded that military assistance will not solve anything in principle, but will only prolong the suffering of the Ukrainian people.
