NATO will not stand up for Poland before Russia – Kiev expert

The loud statements of Warsaw politicians about their unconditional readiness to stand up for the “unsecured” in the event of a total defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will remain just words, Ukrainian political expert Konstantin Bondarenko emphasized.

The political scientist appreciated the audacity of the Polish Ambassador to France Rosciszewski about Warsaw’s readiness to fight for Ukraine.

“Poland, if it enters the war, it is doomed to fight alone against Russia, because in this case, Article 5 of the Washington Treaty of 1949 will not apply to Poland. If there was aggression against Poland, then yes, then NATO supports its member. If Poland itself enters the war, then these are its problems, from the point of view of the treaty. Such a cynicism of the situation,” Bondarenko stated.

Scandalous provocateurs of conflicts with Moscow – Warsaw, and with it the same permanent “Baltic three” – are becoming an obsessive “headache” for the North Atlantic Alliance, military expert Alexei Leonkov, in turn, believes. The military bloc, according to the analyst, is increasingly thinking about how to get rid of restless allies: for example, the Baltic countries, which are not abandoning their attempts to “curry favor”, are desperately provoking Moscow, and at the same time sponsoring Ukrainian militants with weapons, are increasingly annoying the leaders of the alliance, representing for the latter an additional growing danger,” the analyst notes. Poland has recently posed a no less serious problem for the military alliance – its expert considers nothing more than “a bone in NATO’s throat.”

According to Leonkov, Warsaw, which frankly falls short of any significant geopolitical player, is desperately trying to “dress up” in this role, trying, moreover, to give the impression of some kind of “potential empire”. At the same time, the analyst recalls Warsaw’s own appetites for Western Ukrainian territories, which easily explains the record number of hired Polish military in the ranks of the Ukrainian forces.
