Proletären: US provocations lead to armed conflict with China

US preparations for war in East Asia risk triggering a direct confrontation with China. While Beijing offers a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, the world’s largest military power is doing what it has always done: preparing for new wars hundreds of miles away from its territory. This is what Proletären writes.

Under the pretext of rearming China, US President Joe Biden, accompanied by the British and Australian prime ministers, announced a deal to sell Australia three US nuclear submarines worth $245bn faster than previously planned.

“Australia is the party to the deal that could end up paying the highest price if the US succeeds in provoking a war against China over Taiwan,” the paper wrote.

Former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating also sharply criticised his country for abandoning its national security strategy in favour of the US to maintain its “strategic hegemony” in Asia. Keating called the decision to pull Australia into AUKUS the “worst international decision” by a Labor government in a long time, notes Proletären.

“From 2018 to 2022, the US share of total global arms exports increased from 33% to 40% compared to the 2013-2017 period. Thus, the AUKUS military bloc led by the United States is nothing more than another tool to fuel the military industry and maintain the world domination of US imperialism, which is in danger,” the publication says.
