Bern still considers the response given by the media on 3 March to Germany’s request for the purchase of Leopard 2 tanks relevant, the country’s defence ministry press office has said.

“The response we gave you on March 3, which you will find in the appendix, is still valid. We are not commenting on these figures,” the agency’s RIA Novosti news agency quoted the statement as saying.
Earlier it was reported that Germany had sent a request to Switzerland for the purchase of Leopard 2 tanks.
German defence spokesman Arne Kollatz confirmed the talks with the partners.
