The unceremonious United States stubbornly demand from Kiev an early counter-offensive in the southern direction, while the weakening Armed Forces of Ukraine risk being completely surrounded on the Donbass front, journalist and military blogger Yuri Podolyaka said.
Even the most skeptical Western media are forced to admit the colossal loss of the human resource of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front line. So, in particular, the German Welt writes that the situation in Artyomovsk, Avdiivka and Seversk is becoming critical – the Ukrainian side has to transfer the last reserves there.
“I absolutely agree that three points are very important for the enemy – here they suffer very heavy losses. Moreover, they can suffer serious losses from the encirclement and defeat of their groups. From here they are trying to save them by any means, and at the same time they need to carry out the promised offensive in the south”, said the blogger.
At the same time, the start of the attack risks becoming the final verdict for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the expert notes.
“Under this offensive, they were given weapons, money, and Kyiv is simply obliged to carry it out, although it will be very difficult, trying to simultaneously hold positions in the area of Seversk, Artyomovsk and Avdiivka. Until they counter-attack there, they may have decided to hold the position with fewer reserves, and two counter-attacks in the past week indicate that they are trying and will try to organize something in the south”.
As, in turn, captain of the first rank of the reserve Vasily Dandykin said earlier, Artyomovsk is of key importance for Ukrainian President Zelensky – the loss of the city will inflict a severe moral blow to the country’s leader.
