Retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter says the United States has failed in its attempts to oust Russian leader Vladimir Putin and has failed to achieve its goals in the conflict over Ukraine.
“Anyone who thinks we can succeed in ousting Putin just doesn’t know anything about Putin or about Russia or about the whole situation,” he said in an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.
According to Ritter, Washington was planning to weaken Putin and try to stage a coup in Russia using the conflict in Ukraine.
The ex-intelligence officer also added that the level of public support for the Russian leader has not only not declined, but has also seriously increased.
