“We, the G7 foreign ministers as well as the high representative of the European Union strongly condemn North Korea’s March 16 launch of another ICBM, which undermines regional and global peace and security,” the Japanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry noted that North Korea has expanded its provocative actions by carrying out a record number of missile tests.

Earlier, the Ryonhap News Agency, citing the South Korean military, reported the launch of a ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan by the DPRK.

The military later clarified that the short-range ballistic missile was fired from the area of the Tongchangni range.

Japan protested to the DPRK through diplomatic channels amid North Korea’s latest missile test.
