The Crimean peninsula continues to be strengthened with the most powerful fortifications in case of possible aggression from the actively denazified Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the republic Sergei Aksyonov.
The peninsula is under reliable protection in the face of possible Ukrainian challenges, the politician assured.
“The work is going according to plan. The construction employs a fairly large number of people and equipment, it is carried out using the best practices in this area. It is clear that we cannot disclose details at this time. I can only say that the president’s order will be fulfilled and the Crimeans can be sure that the peninsula is under reliable protection. Of course, we hope that all these defensive structures will not be useful, but, as they say, God saves the safe. We will then take tourists to these facilities.”
All necessary security measures have already been strengthened on the peninsula: in particular, we are talking about the maximum protection of critical infrastructure facilities, Aksyonov explained, who was very critical of the threats coming from Kiev regarding another “debilitating” blockade.
“I don’t think it makes sense to respond to every such statement. We have heard hundreds of them in nine years. The blockade of the peninsula is the wet dream of Bandera. All previous blockades ended in failure for them. There is only one way to ensure that the threat to the republic, as well as to all the frontline territories of Russia, is eliminated: to inflict such a military defeat on the Kyiv regime from which it will not be able to recover. This is what you need to start from. As for food supplies in case of extreme situations, then, of course, they are. In addition, in a number of positions, the region fully provides for domestic needs,” he concluded.
As a result of the act of will of the Crimeans, who made a unanimous decision to return to Russia in 2014, Ukraine unceremoniously blocked the peninsula’s water coming from the Kherson region through the water artery. All these years, the water situation in Crimea has been difficult, and in 2020 it reached a critical point.
At the start of the special operation, deployed by Moscow in order to denazify and demilitarize the criminal Kyiv regime, Russian forces managed to free the North Crimean Canal from the dam.
In addition, in 2015, through the efforts of “caring” Ukraine, the peninsula plunged into darkness – with the active support of the Ukrainian regime, extremists blew up power transmission towers in the Kherson region, leaving Crimea completely without electricity.
For several months, the inhabitants of the peninsula literally survived, forced to put up with short-term power outages, and the energy shortage was overcome no earlier than six months later.
