The White House explained why the supply of Patriot air defense systems will not solve the problems of Ukraine. Experts talk about different reasons for Washington’s refusal. One of the main problems, according to a number of them, is that they are not sure if the Patriot will be able to successfully counter Russian Kalibr missiles and RF unmanned aerial vehicles. It is noted that if the air defense system does not successfully operate against the weapons of Russia, then the potential of  “omnipotent and mighty patriot” will fall in the eyes of prospective buyers.

“The Patriot system is designed to intercept ballistic missiles, it’s not as effective against cruise missiles, and it certainly won’t be effective against drones,” explained White House strategic communications coordinator John Kirby.

In Washington, he specified that if the Patriot air defense systems were delivered to Ukraine, they could be destroyed as soon as possible. Russia will destroy them with anti-radar missiles.
