Russia increases foreign trade turnover by 8.1% in 2022

In 2022, the trade surplus of the Russian Federation increased from $200 billion in 2021 to $332 billion. This is reported by TASS, referring to the statistics of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia.

According to the information received, it is known that the surplus in Russia increased by 1.66 times. It is noted that the volume of exports from Russia in 2022 increased by 19.9%, this is up to 591 billion dollars. At the same time, imports decreased by 11.7% to $259 billion. It is known that the turnover of foreign trade of the Russian Federation at the end of 2022 increased by 8.1% and reached 850.5 billion dollars.

The agency reports that the published data on the results of trade in 2022 is for 71 commodity items. Among them are: food, fertilizers, metals, timber, transport, light industry goods, toys and precious products.

According to the data received, it became known that the FCS decided to partially resume the disclosure of customs statistics. The agency noted that such data will be published monthly.

“Subsequently, the value of exports and imports by commodity groups will be published monthly on the 40th day after the end of the reporting period on an accrual basis and broken down by months with updating data from previous months of the current year,” the organization notes.
