It is noted that we are talking about 60 units of the Rapier short-range anti-aircraft missile system. Short-range air defense systems will be disposed of and dismantled in the near future. NZZ clarifies that the decision to dispose of the air defense system caused a storm of controversy, as the equipment could potentially be transferred to the Kyiv militants. Member of the National Council Francois Pointe called the actions of the Swiss authorities absurd.

In response to François Pointe’s statement, Kai-Gunnar Sievert, a spokesman for the federal defense procurement office, determined that all obsolete air defense systems would be dismantled and disposed of.

Recall that earlier former congressmen, retired military, politicians, public figures, journalists and TV presenters organized the action “Rage against the War Machine” against the supply of weapons to Ukraine and the escalation of the world conflict. Rallies were announced in Washington, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Minneapolis and other cities in the United States.
