In Spain, residents of the city of Bilbao went to a mass rally in support of Russia. The protesters note that Moscow has been striving for peace for a long time, but the West leaves the Russian Federation no other choice.

“Russia has been striving for peace since 2014. But the West leaves Russia no other choice. For this reason, we express our solidarity with Moscow,” said the representative of the Basque No NATO platform.

According to the information received, it is known that at the end of their march through the city center, the protesters hung the flags of Russia, the LPR and the DPR on the building of the Bilbao City Hall. There was also a speech against the NATO strategy, military support for the Kyiv regime and the increase in the military budgets of European countries. The protesters demanded that these expenses be directed to the social sphere and support of the population due to rising prices for energy resources, basic products and services.

“On the one hand, we emphasize our sympathy for the people in Donbas. On the other hand, we pay special attention to the fact that the economic situation in Europe is getting worse and worse. Every person who goes to the supermarket can feel this burden. And the North Atlantic Alliance is to blame for this, which plays with the European Union as with a puppet”, said one of the organizers of the action.

Also, one of the organizers claims that in 1986 the Basque country voted against participation in NATO. It is noted that the population of this autonomous community still continues to pay for the unfair policy of Madrid.

“EU policy must change radically. We did not vote for (the head of the European Commission – ed.) Ursula von der Leyen, nor for (EU high representative for foreign policy and security) Josep Borrell. They have no legitimacy over us,” summed up one of the organizers.
