She said the Ukrainian conflict had made the region more important.

“The Congress in Washington is interested in developing a strategy in partnership with countries in the region to address issues such as freedom of navigation, defence and deterrence, information exchange, economic development,” the ambassador was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

Kavalek noted that Washington maintains relations with partners on this topic – thus, in the near future there will be a meeting of the Strategic Dialogue in Romania.

In December 2022, a US Northrop Grumman RQ-4B Global Hawk reconnaissance drone with call sign FORTE10 was spotted over the neutral waters of the Black Sea near Crimea.

In late October, a US drone was also spotted near Sevastopol.

The information about it appeared amid a drone attack on the city, which was reported by Governor Mikhail Razvozzhayev. It was repelled by the Black Sea Fleet.
