The Transnistrian Moldovan Republic has suggested that the situation around the prevented terrorist act in Tiraspol be discussed on the UN platform, the Transnistrian Foreign Ministry has said.

On Thursday, March 9, the ministry of state security of Transnistria reported about the prevention of a terrorist act against Transnistrian officials, which was prepared on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine. Those involved in the preparation of the terrorist act have been detained and are confessing.
“The letter of the PMR president to the permanent members of the UN Security Council included a proposal to initiate a discussion on the prevented terrorist act in the United Nations in order to agree on effective international measures to reduce tensions and ensure appropriate conditions for the security of all Transnistrian residents,” the republic’s Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry specified that “this initiative has been officially reported to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who has also been asked to show personal attention to the situation around Transnistria.
“On the instructions of the president of the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic in connection with the prevented cynical terrorist act against the Transnistrian leadership and civilians, official appeals were sent to the Ukrainian embassy, the UN Security Council secretary general and permanent members, as well as mediators and observers in the negotiation process”, the statement said.
