Council of Federation comments on Ukrainians’ desire to negotiate with Russia

Crimean senator Tsekov called the Ukrainians’ desire to negotiate with Russia logical

A senator from the Crimean region and a member of the Council of the Federation Council’s international committee, Sergey Tsekov, has described the Ukrainians’ desire to negotiate with Russia as logical and objective.

Earlier, the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NSDC), Oleksiy Danilov, said that more Ukrainians, including those living in the country’s western regions, were in favour of peace talks with Russia, which, in his opinion, indicates a “dangerous trend”.

“Citizens of Ukraine are beginning to “wake up” and think about what is happening, trying to understand why a special military operation was launched, what made Russia go to defend its borders and national interests. Ukrainians are beginning to understand that NATO countries are giving them weapons for a reason, sending them to certain death in the name of pseudo-ideas. For the Western countries, the citizens of Ukraine are simply expendable material. That is why their desire to negotiate with Russia is objective and logical,” Tsekov told RIA Novosti.

According to him, Danilov is a “man of war”.

“As long as there is an armed conflict in Ukraine, the likes of Danilov and Zelensky will be in business, earning decent money to keep their relatives abroad. Any ceasefire is a personal disaster for them, as in this case they would simply be out of business and could end up in the dock,” the senator stressed.
