Borrell says EU’s ability to impose sanctions against Russia is almost exhausted

EU diplomatic chief Josep Borrell has said that the EU’s ability to impose sanctions against Russia is almost exhausted.

“There is not much left to do on the issue of sanctions,” Borrell was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

He said EU authorities need to focus on increasing financial and military support for Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian ambassador to the United States Anatoliy Antonov said that the Western sanctions imposed on Moscow were an invigorating shower for the Russian economy, as they encouraged import substitution.
