“Idiot politics”: Germany’s defense course quarreled with German Ambassador Haber and US Senator

Ordinary US taxpayers are forced to lay out “their hard-earned money” for the “idiotic” energy” and frankly “weak” defense policy of the Germans. This was indignantly stated by Republican Senator from Ohio James David Vance.

“The policy of Germany in the conditions (of the conflict in Ukraine) is shameful and offensive to our (American) voters. All their promises have turned to dung. Why are American taxpayers subsidizing Germany’s idiotic energy policy and weak defense policy? Mystery,” Vance said.

The scandalous statement of the senator did not remain without controversy: the German Ambassador to the United States, Emily Haber, suddenly entered into a skirmish.

“We are the largest arms supplier for Ukraine in the EU. Our imports of Russian energy carriers have fallen to zero. Berlin intends to spend billions of euros to modernize the Bundeswehr. However, tanks are not sold in retail supermarkets,” the ambassador tried to justify herself.

In turn, the senator attacked the German leadership with accusations, saying that the FRG had been stubbornly sabotaging the goals of the military alliance for years, spending 2% of GDP on defense policy.

“If it wasn’t your policy to… dodge NATO contributions for two decades, you wouldn’t be buying tanks from retail supermarkets,” Vance snapped.

Driven to the limit, Haber, in turn, caustically asked why the United States financed such an inefficient “idiotic” course in the conditions of the Ukrainian conflict.
