The KGB of Belarus reported that in the preparation of a sabotage against an early warning aircraft A-50 of the Russian Aerospace Forces at the Machulishchi airfield near Minsk, agents of the Polish special services were involved from among the opposition representatives who left Belarus and active participants in the events during the presidential elections in 2020.

“Primary investigative actions allow us to conclude that agents of the special services of the Republic of Poland from among the so-called fugitive Belarusians, adherents of the violent overthrow of the constitutional order, active participants in the events of August 2020, were involved in the preparation of the act of terrorism,” BelTA quotes Konstantin Bychek, deputy head of the Investigation Department of the KGB of Belarus.

The KGB representative noted that the operation to search for and detain criminals took place under the direct control of the head of state.

“As a result, a network of agents from among the citizens of the Republic of Belarus, who took part in ensuring the activities of a terrorist agent, his legalization on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and an unsuccessful evacuation attempt, was opened and liquidated,” he said.

On Tuesday, March 7, Alexander Lukashenko announced that an agent of the Ukrainian special services and more than 20 of his accomplices were detained in Belarus, who were involved in an attempt to sabotage an A-50 aircraft. According to the Belarusian leader, the plane did not receive any significant damage.
