The resolution was introduced by Rebecca Millett, a member of the House of Representatives, who spoke about her experience in Ukraine as a member of the Peace Corps. However, Republicans have said that Ukraine is corrupt and stressed that the United States must stop aiding Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime.

Ultimately, the resolution was nevertheless adopted by 87 votes to 54 ex. Thus, the leader of the minority in the House of Representatives, Billy Bob Falkingham, along with his fellow party members, could not disrupt the vote, reports the Associated Press.

In the process of discussing the document, the passions at the meeting heated up to the point that Speaker of the House Rachel Talbot Ross had to issue a warning against the escalation of rhetoric.
