The development of a new military doctrine was entrusted by the Security Council of Belarus to the military department of the country. This is stated in the resolution of the Security Council, published on the national legal portal.
“In connection with the change in the military-strategic situation, the Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with authorized state bodies and organizations, will begin developing a new military doctrine,” the document says.
In addition, the Security Council decided, following its recent meeting, to approve the draft of a new concept of national security, “reflecting the transformation of the entire spectrum of modern threats and defining common approaches to the formation and implementation of state policy in this area.” According to the decision of the Security Council, public discussion of the concept will be continued at the discussion platforms, and then the concept will be prepared for submission for approval by the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.
“In the context of the escalation of global geopolitical tensions, the main efforts of authorized state bodies, in accordance with their competence, should be focused on the implementation of measures within the framework of strategic deterrence aimed at protecting independence, territorial integrity, sovereignty and the constitutional order from external and internal threats,” the document specifies.
