On Thursday, March 9, the City Council of Sofia will discuss the transfer of a monument in honor of Soviet soldiers-liberators from the center of the Bulgarian capital. Epicenter reports.
The Bulgarian Socialist Party organized a human chain-protest at the monument to the Soviet Army in connection with the demand of “Democratic Bulgaria” and the emblem-SDS (Union of Democratic Forces) to demolish the monument.
The reason was the decision of the commission on culture of the capital’s municipal council to transfer the sculptural composition from the prince’s garden to the center of Sofia. On Thursday, March 9, this issue will be submitted to a meeting of the city council.
