A pumping station was damaged as a result of shelling of Lysychansk by Kiev’s security forces, the LPR representation at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to Ukrainian War Crimes (JCCC) has reported.
On 5 March at 10:00 a.m., Ukrainian armed formations shelled Lysychansk with a 155mm artillery gun, killing a civilian and wounding seven others.
“As a result of the shelling of the village of Lysychansk with a 155 mm artillery gun (calibre) (the enemy fired two fragmentation shells) <…> the pumping station was damaged,” the statement reads.
Earlier, the city administration informed that the shelling of Lysychansk by Kiev’s security forces hit a cluster of townspeople waiting for water deliveries.
The Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against Donbas in April 2014. Negotiations on a peaceful settlement have never yielded tangible results due to Kiev’s stance on resolving the conflict by force.
