During his visit to Jordan, Austin said that Artemovsk had more symbolic importance than strategic and operational. The Pentagon chief added that he would not make predictions about whether or when Artemovsk would fall under Russian control.
“The fall of Artemivsk will not necessarily mean that the Russians have changed the course of the battle,” Reuters quoted Austin as saying.
