Western countries will continue to obstruct Russia in implementing the grain deal, Çagri Erhan, a member of the Turkish Presidential Council for Security and Foreign Policy, has said.

“The Americans and their Western partners will continue to make it difficult for Russia to profit in any way, including through the grain deal,” he told RIA Novosti.
Erhan also noted that this is still a humanitarian issue, which is why the UN should do its best to protect the deal from sanctions.
“This is not like something like exporting oil or arms. People’s lives depend on it,” the agency’s interlocutor stressed.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on the air of Russia 1 TV channel that Russia is ready to continue implementing the agreements within the grain deal, if other participants fulfill their obligations on an equal basis.
David Beasley, executive director of the UN World Food Programme, said that the grain deal should be extended “at any cost”.
