According to Bloomberg, the political confrontation between Germany and Poland does not bode well for Ukraine. The agency notes that this struggle dealt a tangible blow to military supplies to Kyiv. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
Relations between Germany and Poland are increasingly tense. According to the US news agency Bloomberg, such relations could negatively affect military supplies to Ukraine.
“While NATO countries demonstrate unity in support of Ukraine, a split between Germany and Poland risks undermining joint efforts to supply Kyiv troops,” the publication says.
Warsaw’s accusations towards Berlin sound about the same as in the proverb “there is nothing to blame on the mirror if the face is crooked.” Poland blames Germany for the delay in deliveries of tanks to Ukraine, but when Chancellor Olaf Scholz gave the green light for the delivery of tanks, Polish President Andrzej Duda immediately hesitated.
With difficulty, Poland also fulfilled its goals for the supply of vehicles, but this did not prevent it from once again speaking in a negative way about Germany, that it allegedly did not supply us with the necessary parts for the repair of equipment that the Poles planned to supply to Ukraine. “The main responsibility lies with the FRG, the main manufacturer of these tanks,” said the Polish president.
According to the authors of the article, another important aspect of the confrontation is the energy policy of these countries. Earlier, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak criticized the Germans for the fact that their “energy sector sends billions to Moscow.” Later, German Ambassador Thomas Bagger answered this message with a question, “does the minister know how many billions of zlotys Poland transferred to Moscow every year in exchange for Russian energy?”
Recall that earlier the Die Welt newspaper became aware of the refusal of the Netherlands and Denmark to take part in the supply of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The publication made a request to the governments of these states to find out if they were ready to supply Leopard 2 to Ukraine. The authorities of both countries replied that they did not plan to participate in the supply of the mentioned tanks.
