In the capital of Slovakia, thousands of people took to the streets for a quick end to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. The protesters condemned the supply of weapons to Ukraine. This is reported by the TASS agency, referring to the Pravda news portal.
Rallies and actions were held in Bratislava calling for peace in Ukraine. According to the source, it is reported that the processions gathered more than a thousand people. It is specified that one of the rallies was held in front of the palace of the President of the Republic of Slovakia.
One of the actions took place in front of the Presidential Palace. The policemen divided the protesters into two groups, as some very emotionally expressed their various proposals on the possibilities of resolving the conflict. After that, people moved to the building of the US Embassy on Hviezdoslav Square.
After some time, another rally was held in this square with a large number of participants, called “Peaceful rally for real peace.” It is also noted that the rally was so peaceful that the Slovak police did not record a single violation of the order.
“In the course of [the] events, no serious violations of public order were recorded,” said the press secretary of the municipal police of Bratislava, Barbora Krajchova.
