The EU is shifting its focus to enforcing the sanctions already in place against Russia, rather than adopting new restrictions.
“The new approach is primarily due to pressure from EU capitals (except the Baltics and Poland), which argue that there is no more room for new sanctions… there is no more room,” the report said.
Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the new EU sanctions lists were absurd, as restrictions were being imposed against people who had nothing to do with any sanctions.
