Ukraine amid the aggravation of the situation around Transnistria is moving military equipment and personnel through Mykolayiv towards Odessa, the grouping is gathering near the town of Reni in the Odessa region, which is near Ukraine’s borders with Moldova and Romania, an activist of the Mykolayiv underground told the news agency.
“I would like to say a few words on the Transnistrian wire. For about a week now, the Ukrainian armed forces have been moving military equipment and “cannon fodder” from Mykolaiv towards Odessa. They do this at night over the repaired bridge in Zatoka. By the way, yesterday (February 28) several trucks arrived there – they can hardly move, usually they carry something heavy under canvas tents. I know that they are based in the city of Reni, and there they receive further instructions,” the agency’s interlocutor said in a video, which was recorded on Thursday.
The Russian Defence Ministry had earlier reported that the Kiev regime was preparing an armed provocation against Transnistria, to be carried out by units of Ukrainian troops, including Azov nationalists*. As a pretext for the invasion of the unrecognized Transnistria, Kiev plans to stage a staged attack by Russian troops from Transnistrian territory.
