Ukrainian militants lost more than 200 sappers in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) in two months of 2023. This is reported by the Telegram channel “Military Chronicle”.
According to the channel, since the beginning of January 2023, the engineering units of the 57th motorized infantry, 61st infantry, 24th and 63rd mechanized brigades have lost more than 200 Ukrainian militants. It is noted that the Ukrainian militants from the engineering units were used by the Ukrainian command as rapid reaction assault groups during the breakthroughs of the Russian army in the north, northwest and east of Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
The channel “Military Chronicle” claims that due to the irretrievable losses of the standing army and the territorial defense of Ukrainian militants, a significant part of the sappers and full-time explosives experts were involved in the first and second lines of combat clashes. It is noted that most of them have already died in the battles for Artemovsk.
“After the death of servicemen of engineering companies and fighters of the Armed Forces support groups from artillery fire, without the support of explosives, the company and platoon strongholds of the 63rd mechanized brigade were left in the area of the monument to the MiG-17 aircraft in the south-west of Artyomovsk (Bakhmut) of the 24th mechanized brigade in the area the Bakhmut-1 railway station in the northeast, as well as the Maloilshevskaya station on the northern outskirts of the city,” the channel notes.
Ukrainian militants were left without minefields. It is specified that the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have repeatedly requested air support from the Ukrainian command to strike at the ground units of the Russian army. It is noted that Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters, as well as Su-24 front-line bombers and Su-25 attack aircraft of the Ukrainian army, were not included in this attack zone, since they could be detected by air defense systems. The channel also claims that most of the helicopters were still found and shot down on approach near the villages of Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka, Belokuzminovka and Vasyutinskoye.
Recall that on the eve of the colossal losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which, according to individual Ukrainian journalists, reached 140 thousand people.
