The bill introduced by the government on Finland’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was approved by the country’s parliament. This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to information from the broadcast of the meeting.
A meeting of the Finnish Parliament on the issue of the country’s accession to NATO was held. According to the information received, it follows that the majority of parliament deputies voted for the approval of joining this alliance.
The publication notes that 184 deputies voted in favor of the agreement, seven were absent, and one abstained. At the national level of ratification of Finland’s application to join NATO, the final decision must be made by the country’s President Sauli Niinistö.
