The representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine Demchenko said that work near the border with Transnistria has allegedly been carried out since February 2022. This is reported by the TASS agency.
During the whole year, the Ukrainian authorities erected protective structures on the border with the unrecognized republic, Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said.
“The defense forces, including units of the State Border Service, have strengthened this direction. And these activities are still ongoing, including not only strengthening by units, but also carrying out all the necessary engineering fortification work so that the defense forces are able to take all the necessary measures while staying in this direction,” said the representative on the air of the TV channel “Glad”.
A representative of the Ukrainian border service tried to convince the viewers of the broadcast that provocations in this area of the territory could arise at any moment. He clarified that by the decision of the government of Ukraine, all checkpoints on the border with Pridnestrovie are closed.
It is well known that an “incident” at the border can only arise from Ukraine. Experts say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine apparently want to make up for a serious shortage of ammunition from Soviet depots located in the Transnistrian Republic.
