The Russian State Duma proposes to develop a detailed mechanism for the confiscation of vehicles from persistent violators of traffic rules for the subsequent transfer of vehicles to the ownership of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
A letter with the corresponding initiative has already been sent to the GUOBDD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation by the deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party Vasily Vlasov.
“I ask you to evaluate the feasibility of confiscating cars from persons who systematically violate traffic rules for the purpose of their subsequent transfer to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation unilaterally without compensation payments,” the deputy’s message reads.
According to the parliamentarian, today, in order to successfully fulfill the goals set within the framework of the special operation, there is a high need for vehicles with certain technical characteristics, as well as increased cross-country ability. It is proposed to confiscate vehicles from systematic violators of traffic rules unilaterally, and without any subsequent compensation.
This is not the first time the issue has been raised in the Duma. For example, MP Ivan Sukharev initiated an amnesty for fines due to the pressure on Russians from the powerful sanctions restrictions of the West.
