Swiss authorities allow arms re-export to Ukraine

Swiss Foreign Minister Iñazio Cassis has allowed arms re-export to Ukraine if the country’s parliament changes the law on the export of military equipment.

He said today’s session is dedicated to the topic.

“If parliament changes the law, obviously this will be the legal basis that will force the government to act,” Kassis was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

The politician added that the government is closely monitoring the situation.

He also said that Bern would join the new package of European sanctions against Russia as decided by the government.
